Payroll Assistant - 30K

P&L recruitment are delighted to be working with our well-established client based in North Ayrshire to recruit an experienced Payroll Assistant to join a busy finance department. The successful candidate will be able to work autonomously on their own initiative to deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 

The main duties are:

  • Processing a weekly payroll from start to finish
  • To accurately input and process all relevant data required for Payroll, including, salaries, overtime/shift/call-out payments, bonuses, benefit deductions, voluntary deductions, maternity/paternity allowances, sickness.
  • Process and submit statutory year end returns and P60s.​
  • Process all new starters and leavers
  • Maintaining and ensuring all authorised holidays and paid correctly
  • Dealing with payroll queries
  • Ensure compliance with PAYE, NIC, SSP, SMP, SPP, Pension Schemes and CIS Returns, and experience of handling RTI, Auto-enrolment, and Tax Year End processes

The main requirements:

  • Previous payroll experience is essential
  • Highly proficient IT skills including Sage and Excel
  • First class communication skills
  • Strong team player
  • Able to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
